QA Manager

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Directly manage a team of Software Development Engineers in test (SDET) and Quality Engineers across our Products.
  • Reviews design specifications, processes, and test procedures to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the software application.
  • Ensures that products meet the organization’s and customers quality and product integrity requirements.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, test status and time to resolution of issues.
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the development process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
  • Manage QA testing, documentation, prioritization, and troubleshooting of all bugs/issues and resolutions
  • Determine manual test cases that are candidates for automation.
  • Identify and investigate issues found during testing, assist cross-functional team members in troubleshooting as needed and update test cases based on discovered defects
  • Analyzes data to identify trends in quality or issues/bugs with a goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future issues.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and tracking of test cases and test accounts.
  • Represent QA in planning meetings on all development projects to provide input and guidance on testing best practices.
  • Identifies appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate.
  • Conducts testing to ensure products perform according to user requirements and within established guidelines.
  • Identifies, logs, and recreates error codes, bugs, and defects.
  • When a product does not perform within specifications, reports defects to programmers while identifying and recommending solutions, improvements, and updates.
  • Participate in training and demos to internal team members on all new features and enhancements

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT required; Master’s degree in IT
  • 8+ years of related experience required.
  • ISTQB intermediate or advanced certifications are a must.
  • Self-driven, problem-solver, able to work independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and to be conscientious about assignments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills; ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and capacity to adapt quickly and adjust to changing and often challenging environments.
  • Ability to focus on the big picture and not just the engineering or production realm; with the ability to lead others in that direction.
  • Working knowledge of test automation, API testing, and UI/UX testing.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and projects to align with the organization’s roadmap and business goals.
  • Working knowledge of programing languages like Java/Python.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD and SDLC.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and frequent release cycles.
